Hijinks

It was such a nice day, Ginnie Lee and I went to Ruff House Dog Park at Rockwood Park. Chesterfield has such nice parks!
I don't know who these guys are, but they sure are having fun.
Ginnie Lee met a lab and they had fun
Ginnie Lee loves a Beagle! I wonder if this fellow reminds GL of Hershey

Look Cate!
Whippets!

Wish this one wasn't so blurry
Ginnie Lee got bored at the end...

Blocking

Finally got the pic up!

Unfortunately, I can no longer come up with reasons to procrastinate. I already cleaned the kitchen...now I have to grade papers. :(

Rotten Blogger

Why can't I post pics? I have tons to share! Of DOGS and KNITTING!! That's what this blog is about after all!

I'm so close...

....if I buckle down and don't clean the house or grade papers, I think I can get this done this weekend.

OF COURSE my priorities are in order.

Speaking of priorities, you will notice a new button on my blog...
My Amazon.com Wish List

Feel free to use it as you see fit.

Ginnie Lee got a treat this afternoon in the form of a femur bone:
You can see on her back paw that she has a little ouchie that's been a reoccurring problem for a nearly a year. Dr. Rose and I have decided to remove it once and for all. GL's allergies seem to be getting a little better. We don't know if it was the food change or the season change. I hope they keep getting better.

Interesting....

Your Love Life is Like Casablanca

"Kiss me. Kiss me as if it were the last time."

For you, love is never finished. If you've loved someone once, you'll always love them.
You're an old fashioned romantic... even if your relationships don't end up as romantic as you'd like.

Your love style: Traditional and understated

Your Hollywood Ending Will Be: Complicated and ambiguous

Easy Peasy

Round and round we go....
It's such a relief.

GL is still not feeling her best....but we're going to get to the bottom of what ails her!

GL and friends

Ginnie Lee had her friends Lucy and Rusty over yesterday!

Here's Lucy! What a pretty girl!

Here's Rusty. Look at that red nose!

Lucy and Rusty are both Brittanies. They're French bird dogs...super soft and v. sweet.

Of course, Ginnie Lee and Rusty had to mix it up.

That's what friends are for, right?

Not feeling good

Poor Ginnie Lee. She's not feeling well. She's allergic to something and Dr. Rose and I are trying to figure out what it is.

She's so itchy she's scratching her herself bald. She's also got hives on her tummy.

It might be her food. It might be grass or weeds or anything! We just have to try to figure it out.

She has to take benadryl every day now, and this is how it makes her feel.

Everyone wish her all better soon.

Poor Ginnie Lee.

Do you guys think this is true?

This quiz told me what book I am. I've never read this book, though, generally speaking, I like Vonnegut. I guess I'm ok with everything but the "mean" comment.... I dunno about that.

Will someone get this for me for my birthday, please? Thanks.

You're Mother Night!

by Kurt Vonnegut

Nobody knows what to believe about you, and you know least of all. You
spent most of your time convinced that the ends justify the means, but your means were,
well, downright mean! And the end is nigh. Meanwhile all you want is to travel back in
time, if not to change, then to just delight in the way it used to be. You are who you
pretend to be. Oh yes, you're the great pretender.

The Insomnia Chronicles--Part Seven

I got started on this:
Which is the Forest Canopy Shoulder Shawl by Susan Pierce Lawrence. Great pattern. I have made attempts at lace before with skinny yarn and skinny needles, and thrown it all down in disgust. This pattern is for worsted, so I don't feel like I'm going blind and arthritic. I totally went stash diving for the yarn on this one, too....which was highly satisfying since this Shaefter Marjaana has been sitting around so long, the Indira Gandhi colorway doesn't even exist anymore (that I can find, anyway). Pretty, huh? This is just the cast on and set up rows, so we'll see how I do on the lace pattern.

The ever faithful Ginnie Lee gets up when I get up at 3 a.m. and goes outside to go potty, then takes her place on her "Ginny Lee" (totally spelled wrong) bed next to the couch. And when I go upstairs to get back into bed, she will uncurl herself and make the long climb with me again.
What a good dog

I SUCK at maintaining this blog...

Shocking news: An FO! It's the Easy Baby Cardi from Knitting Pure and Simple...you all know what a devotee I am...

It's made from 2.5 of the eleventy million balls of Sugar 'n' Creme I have. It still needs to be blocked and I need to put some closures on it.

Apparently, Ginnie Lee has been possessed by green-eyed aliens:
I took this pic this evening out in my back yard (yes, I realize that there's no grass). My friend Jamie was visiting this past weekend. She has quite a bit of talent when it comes to picture taking. You can see by the quality of the photos below....
I think I will keep my day job.

I have recently received an invitation to Ravelry. It is truly fascinating....I can't believe how many knitters are out there.

I think my next project is going to be the Forest Canopy Shawl which I can easily stash dive for. It will be my first lace project, but it's made for beginners and it's written for worsted weight.

Wish me luck.
